# Eochon Hoetjip in Suyeong: clean-tasting sashimi at a fair price

I had not had a drink in Suyeong for a while. At about 6:30 on a Tuesday evening I went to Eochon Hoetjip to have one with a friend. It is a raw fish restaurant inside Suyeong Paldo Market, and there is [a note from my first visit in June](/en/posts/suyeong-eochon-hoetjip-20260616/). The seating is on the tight side.

We ordered the assorted sashimi. I remember the small size being 40,000 won, but I am not certain. It included a little gizzard shad.

The taste was clean. They seem to cut the fish with skill. Side dishes come too. The price felt reasonable as well.

After we finished the sashimi we kept talking and drinking. That was when we were given a fried fish head on the house. I do not clearly remember whether it was rockfish or dark-banded rockfish, but I think it was rockfish.

There was a red-spotted grouper in the tank, and a notice saying they sell it as sashimi. I have heard it is good, so next time I want to try it.
