# Kalmat Hoetjip: late-season striped jack and grunt, still rich

> My favorite sashimi place near Pusan National University, with a friend. The premium set had late-season fish, and a coupon got us rockfish spicy soup.

At about 5:40 on a Tuesday evening, a friend and I went to my favorite sashimi place near Pusan National University. This plan was also why I had not chosen sashimi at [lunch with my mother](/en/posts/songdo-haemul-nara-chonggakjip-20261006/) that day. I had also been here [in July](/en/posts/jangjeon-kalmat-hoetjip-20260717/).

We ordered the premium sashimi for two at 70,000 won. Striped jack and grunt, almost out of season, came out with a fine sheen of fat, and they were still rich.

My friend had collected all the coupons, so we got spicy fish soup as well. I always owe this friend. Unlike the usual soup made from bones, the coupon soup has a whole rockfish in it and tastes much better.

We easily finished two bottles of soju. I think I made up for what I could not drink at lunch because of driving. Yellowtail season is near, so I plan to come back then.
