# Ondaljip in Dongnae: chicken better in perilla than in dumplings

> A grilled chicken place in Dongnae. This time flat dumplings came with the chive chicken, but we both preferred perilla wraps. We added cheese tteokbokki.

A friend kept asking to go for a drink, so we met in Dongnae at about 7:40 on a Tuesday evening. I had not been to Dongnae for a while. Ondaljip is a grilled chicken place I also visited in [April](/en/posts/dongnae-ondaljip-20260403/) and [August](/en/posts/dongnae-ondaljip-20260808/).

As always, I ordered two servings of the charcoal-grilled chicken with chives. It is 14,000 won per serving. I recommend it if you want spicy grilled chicken as an easy meal.

This time about five flat dumplings came with it. That is new. A sign on the wall says ten cost 2,000 won. A server suggested wrapping the chicken in a dumpling. That was fine, but my friend and I both liked it better wrapped in a perilla leaf.

My friend was hungry, so we added the cheese tteokbokki.

The tteokbokki tasted similar to the sauce on the chicken. I do not know whether they use the same seasoning. A bite with the cheese was fine. I like tteokbokki, while my friend only has it now and then when we drink together.

It is open from 5:30 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Chamisul I saw that night had an ordinary cap. Once again I did not see the INTJ cap I keep looking for.
